Nexton in the Summerville area of South Carolina is a relatively new community - but don't mistake it for a fledgling neighborhood without much to offer. In fact, in a short time, Nexton has become one of the hottest communities in the Lowcountry to live in.
But, why is that?
It could be the fact that in only a few years it's become an award-winning, nationally acclaimed community. Or could it be that even non-residents will drive from out of town to shop its shops and dine in its great restaurants? Maybe it's because the design of this community makes sure to meld nature, commerce, and entertainment together seamlessly. In this article, we'll lay out why so many folks are making Nexton their home.
Location
While Nexton is conveniently located at I-26 and Nexton Parkway and minutes away from employers like Volvo, Bosch, and others - what's really attractive about the community is simply what's already there. Nexton has its own dining and shopping, areas to hike and bike ride, exercise, and the school district is the most sought-after in the area.

Dining In Nexton
Halls Chophouse

Halls began life in 2009 with a spot in Downtown Charleston and since that time has expanded to include Greenville, Columbia, and (thankfully) Nexton. Halls is one of those stellar spots that have high-quality food and customer service and still have something for everyone.
Our recommendations: For the salad-lover, you can’t go wrong with the Prime Steak Martini aka “The Steaktini”. The Halls Chophouse rack of lamb is consistently tender and seasoned to perfection. When you don’t want a full meal, the calamari, fried green tomatoes, and lump crab cakes are always sure bets.
Fuji Sushi Bar and Grill
Fuji is another staple that’s been around since 2009 and happily has opened a spot in Nexton Square. The atmosphere is always laid-back and cozy with great lunch specials.
Our recommendations: One of our favorites is the Hibachi Combo, everything is always super fresh.
D’Allesandro’s Pizza Nexton
Another spot with its origins in Downtown Charleston that we’re thrilled decided to open in Nexton. We love to take clients here and it’s also a go-to spot for us to grab something quick and delicious when we’re having a busy day.
Our recommendations: Their pizza, of course! The flavors and sauce are fantastic.
Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar
photo via Bad Daddy's Burger Bar
Although Bad Daddy’s got its start in Charlotte, NC, we can confidently say one of the best decisions they made was to head down to the Lowcountry (for us anyway) When we’re looking for a more casual spot to take clients, this is where we head. Great food and excellent customer service is a simple but 100% accurate ways to describe this spot.
Our Recommendations: Create-your-own burger, fried pickles, wings, and not your momma's deviled eggs - which is true but you’ll be hooked after you’ve tried them.
